A Christmass Dollhouse

For Christmas my wife and I were shopping at Hobby Lobby and I saw doll house kit for sale. After looking at them I said to my wife I should make one of those for my youngest daughter for Christmas. She thought that would be cool and we bought a kit that looked a lot like my boy hood home. I was Thanksgiving week end when I started. It was more complicated than I thought. I was able to finish the exterior on Christmas eve. Needless to say she loved it, but it was only half done. I had grand plans to install lights and a hallway and an other wall for the bath room. Two months later and I is done. It was a great project and to see how much fun my daughter has been having with picking paint colors and arranging and rearranging furniture and made it very rewarding.

If you are thinking of a project like this I highly recomend it. It is a lot of fun and can really bring you closer to that little someone in your life.

Mr. Plow

Two and a half months ago my son wanted to drive my E-Maxx while I was out in the yard

with a friend. He is eight and usually does well but I stand next to him to coach him. Well this time I was not watching him as well as I should have and the next thing I saw was my beautiful truck doing 30 mph into a concrete wall by my drive way. At first it looked okay, but when we tried to drive it, it was apparent it was not Okay.

He had cracked the front end in about 10 different places. While ordering new parts I came across the ESP Snow Plow Kit T/E-Maxx on Tower Hobbies web sight and thought that would be cool. I had to up grade my radio to a 2 channel so I could raise and lower the shovel, but it was worth it. This thing is cool and really works. I also found the great custom painted body on E-bay. The guy did a great job. More things for this hobby. I love it!!!

I would like to take my hat off to E-flite for making another great micro flying machine. I got my msr yesterday. I was hesitant to buy this one because fly helicopters is hard. My brother in law bought me a micro one last year and that thing was insane and does not fly anymore. It was so hard to control. I have off and on flown helis on my flight simulator and have slowly gotten so I can fly them. They do not exactly go where I want them to but I can keep them form crashing.

So with some birthday money I got the E-flight Blade mSR. I watch several videos on this aircraft and saw that they said it was durable. I fly my Blade mX2's all the time and have always been impressed with their ability to take a crash and have no damage. I thought if the mSR is even remotely as durable then I should eventually be able to learn to fly it. I got it out of the box, charged my batteries, bound it to my Spektrum radio and gave it a try. I do not know if it was from my recent increase of flight time on my sim. or if it was that this heli is that easy to fly or what, but I hoped it up into the air and had it in a nice hoover with no problems. I was surprised to see how stable it is. The only areas of trouble I have had is sometimes I get it flying in a forward movement and I really gets go fast and I sometimes cannot get it under control and I then proceed to crash. I go over and pick it up place it on the table at work and I am off again. The only other negative is it seems like the battery does not last as long as the other micro air craft I fly.

One of my other favorite E-filte products is the Ember 2. They say it is an indoor airplane, but I have never flown it indoors. I is one of the nicest planes I have flown. I can fly it anywhere almost. It is so small and slow you can fly in your front yard. My dog has a field day chasing it a round while I fly it is the evenings. I have a street lamp by my yard and I can fly it at night. I just fly it by the street light and it works great. If I was getting a started plane as a beginner, I think this is the one I would pick. It is so light and slow that you have plenty of reaction time and it does not hit the ground hard. It just floats to the ground. It is hard to brake unless you step on it or your nice rides her bike over it, but that is an other story. Even in those situations you can buy replacement parts. My 8 yr old son has flown it a few times. It has great range so we fly in a big field in front of my house. I take it high, give him the radio and let him go. If he gets into trouble then I just grab the radio take the plane up and give it back to him. The plane is so slow and light you have plenty of reaction lime.

Anyways I just wanted to let everyone know how impressed I am with these aircraft that E-flite has created and I would highly recommend them to anyone . The co-axial helis are a great way to get into the hobby. Watch out because one you get the flying bug it is hard to get rid of.

Here is the latest thing in RC helicopters. It is called the nVader 600. It has 2 props and is said to be in between a co-axial and a regular heli. It looks like a great platform for photography. It is reported that you can put your radio down and it will stay stable and level. We will see. I ordered mine this week and they said it may take up to 6 weeks to get it due to it being new and the great interest in their smaller version. I cannot wait to get it. I hope it is as good as it looks. I really want to get into more aerial photography and it seems the helicopters allow you a lot more in that area than planes.

Flight over Peggy Baker Park

This is Peggy Baker Park in Crestwood Kentucky. My son plays little league baseball here. It is a great place to fly but usually when I am there there are to many people to fly safely. Anyways, I love this Hawkeye RC kite. With my canon PowerShot it am getting great pics. and videos. It is alot of fun. It is a very easy plane to fly and if you get it to altitude and cut the engine it takes great images. Best system I have bought.

Veiw of Norton Commons

I took these pictures last week before the ones on the last posting. I do not know what was wrong with the camera but most of them were to dark, so I had to wait so my wife could show me how to edit them. The colors are messed up but this is the best I could do. I may have to go back and take my pics. again. This is a cool neighborhood. I is a planed community. You are to live, work and play here. It is only 3-4 years old. I think it is going slower because of the economy but it is coming along. It is really cool. My wife wants to move here when the kids leave home and our current house is to big for us. We will see.
